‘We Give a Shirt’ Donation: The Shirt that Keeps on Giving
We are so excited to announce that the team at Showpony has donated their surplus t-shirt inventory from the ‘We Give a Shirt’ campaign to the Thrift Store.
The brainchild of Showpony, a downtown Augusta-based branded merchandise company, the popular limited edition t-shirt campaign became a social media sensation and raised more than half a million dollars, with more than a quarter of a million going directly to local businesses during the pandemic.
With Showpony’s donation of the t-shirt surplus to the Thrift Store, the shirts will truly keep on giving to the local Augusta community.
“Catholic Social Services Thrift Store’s long-standing commitment to serving those in our community who are most in need aligns directly with the philanthropic goals of the ‘We Give a Shirt’ program. There is no better use for the surplus inventory,” said Sean Mooney, Partner at Showpony.
The Thrift Store will offer the t-shirts for sale Wednesday, March 10th through Saturday, March 13th for $5.00 each. Proceeds of the sale will benefit Catholic Social Services of Augusta, a Diocese of Savannah-sponsored ministry that provides emergency assistance to poor, homeless, and at-risk individuals and families in the CSRA and surrounding areas.
“We are so fortunate that the team at Showpony has donated their surplus in support of our mission,” says Philomena Mooney, Thrift Store Manager. “If Augustans missed the opportunity to purchase a shirt to support their favorite local businesses during the WGAS campaign, they now have a second chance — and they can feel good knowing that the proceeds will continue to benefit those in the CSRA.”
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 10th - Saturday, March 13th (8am to 6pm) and swing by the Thrift Store to look for your favorite local company’s t-shirt!
