New Thrift Store Building Blessed by Clergy
On Tuesday, June 30th Catholic Social Services Thrift Store staff and volunteers, as well as local area clergy, came together for a private blessing of the new store in advance of the July 6th Grand Opening celebration. Fr. Mark Ross, Pastor at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, was accompanied by Fr. Vernon Knight (St. Mary on the Hill) and Fr. Mark Van Alstine (St. Joseph) to bless the new building.

We are so thrilled to announce that we have been included in the “We Give a Shirt” campaign! The team at Showpony creates limited edition t-shirts (at their cost) for local businesses, causes, schools, and organizations. The shirts are $20 and the proceeds go directly to the local business. Each shirt is on sale for a week, then if at least 50 are sold, Showpony prints and ships.

Mrs. Laura Dances Up a Storm on WJBF
At 104 years old, there’s no slowing Mrs. Laura down. Volunteering at the Thrift Store every Friday for more than 25 years (in high heels, nonetheless), Mrs. Laura is also an avid ballroom dancer. And, she’s also somewhat of an Internet sensation — a video of her dancing recently went viral on Facebook!
